About Myself
My passion has always lied at the intersection of business, design & technology. As a designer, I use this interdisciplinary approach to analyze problems from different perspectives and create impactful solutions. My degree in Computer Science and minor in Business has bridged the gap between designer and developer in the workplace, allowing me to better understand resources and constraints while continually being an advocate for design.
Computer Science
Computer science is a male-dominated field and it’s unlikely that software companies are going to change this demographic anytime soon as the problems are far more social than they are institutional. And as "minorities" in this field, we struggle to gain respect in the male-dominated industry.

Both my parents are software developers, and since they would code a lot, it kind of intrigued me how computers could display things like ‘hello world’ and even my name. As a nine year old, I thought it was magic, and I wanted to know how it’s done and get to the depth of it. So, my parents began to teach me general purpose languages like C and Python. Within a year, I had developed several simple applications.

During undergraduate studies at University of California, Davis, a close friend and I decided to launch our own company - PRDCR - before selling the company to Dolby as part of Dolby On project. 2 years later, we secured a partnership with the Dolby Laboratories.

Knowing one programming language makes it much easier to learn other programming languages.
Coding teaches the power of persistence, structured and creative thinking, and plays a vital role in our everyday lives.

Sports & Athletics
From an early age I struggled with mental illness and tried to keep myself busy with sports. When you’re immersed in physical activity or a team sport, you may find yourself distracted from the stressors and challenges of daily life. This temporary respite from stress can help avoid getting bogged down by negative thoughts.

I had played soccer since I was 6 years old and worked my way up from recreational league, to club level and to varsity my freshmen year. Playing the same sport over a long period of time can lead to a loss of interest. To find balance in the off-season, I picked up new activities such as softball and track. I quickly realized the sport that I once loved did not give me joy and excitement anymore. It left me feeling drained and suffocated by stress and so I dropped organized sports.
Music
Songwriting has been an all-consuming passion for me since the age of 8. Although we can talk about some things in life, sometimes the level of hurt or pain can be so intense in such a way that singing becomes the only option to express how we have been affected by something.
